In or around August 2014, Brother released new firmware on their inkjet printers, which results in the printers not being able to recognize our compatible ink cartridge chips. This will only affect customers if the printer is manufactured after August 2014, of if you download the latest firmware from Brother.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANY FIRMWARE / UPDATES if prompted to do so by Brother.
If you did install the latest firmware or have a newer printer manufactured after August 2014, your printer will only work with NEW generation chips. We upgraded our chips just prior to August 2014, so an all new update is now pending and expected to be released in January 2015.
