Toner cartridges made for the Dell 1230 / 1230c printers are the same shape and size as those for the Samsung CLP-315 printers. However, while the Samsung CLP-315 cartridges physically fit into Dell 1230c printer, the printer will not recognize the cartridge due to using a different chip. Therefore dedicated cartridges should be bought for each printer. However the toner powder (refill) is the same for both, just the chip is different and dedicated for each.
